Preston North End have missed out on a TV payday with ITV and the BBC snubbing the FA Cup tie against Chelsea in January. The third-round draw of the FA Cup threw up a fascinating tie as PNE were drawn away to Premier League giants Chelsea. We can remember a couple of previous FA Cup clashes between the two clubs. North End took the lead at Stamford Bridge in 2002 before eventually falling to a 3-1 defeat in West London.
