England will have their Euro 2024 base camp at an eastern German golf resort which has two training pitches, the ministry of the state of Thuringia confirmed on Wednesday. England manager Gareth Southgate said last week that the team led by captain Harry Kane was planning to stay at the Weimarer Land resort in Blankenhain, with the stay still to be finalised for good. Blankenhain is some 90 minutes away from Leipzig, the only eastern German venue at the Euros which run June 14-July 14, but the team has to travel further for their group games.
