The Israeli army said on Thursday that Hamas had fired several rockets towards Israel from an area designated as a “humanitarian zone” in the south of the Gaza Strip. The Islamist militants reportedly used a launch site near United Nations facilities, which also caused civilians to flee their tents in the al-Mawasi region on the Mediterranean not far from the border with Egypt.
