The German government has come out in favour of imposing travel restrictions on radical Israeli settlers for the European Union similar to those recently announced by the United States. A German Foreign Office spokesman welcomed the US sanctions on radical Israeli settlers and said that Germany would play an active role in pushing for similiar measures in the EU. “In our view, it is important to drive this debate forward at European level as well,” the spokesman said, pointing toward a meeting of EU foreign ministers scheduled for Monday.
