Two games of rugby were played at Kelham Road on the weekend, with Newark’s 2nd and 3rds in action. On the main pitch, the 2nds took on Gainsborough and Newark came out nine-point winners as they ended the game 24-15. It wasn’t all plain sailing for the Newark side with Gainsborough boasting a powerful side that asked questions of the home team’s defence.
